Kaitlin & Cody's Romantic Red & White Wedding Theme

Looking for inspiration on how to design a classic wedding theme? With delicate details, seasonal touches, and thoughtful use of colors, you can set the scene for a timeless and romantic wedding that’s uniquely you.

Here, we’re sharing how our real bride gives a red and white wedding theme an elegant upgrade when paired with lush emerald green and glistening crystal accents. Take inspiration from Kaitlin and Cody's romantic red and white wedding and see why classic colors never go out of style.

What is a timeless wedding theme?

As far as bridal styles go, sometimes you shouldn’t mess with perfection. Tried and true, timeless wedding themes look equally at home in 1923 as they do in 2023. While there’s many ways to interpret a timeless wedding theme, generally they stay close to formal and traditional design influences.

Creating a classic, elegant wedding theme means choosing decor and accents that never go out of style. Instead of chasing trending color palettes, tailoring your decor around timeless wedding colors leads to clean, impactful design that acts as the perfect backdrop for your event.

Do red, black, and white go together?

When it comes to color palettes that stand the test of time, red, white, and black are always at the top of the list. Classy and classic, they work well in almost any combination together or apart. For Kaitlin and Cody, working with white and red created an ambiance of old Hollywood glamour and timeless beauty.

Find inspiration in Kaitlin and Cody’s wedding theme while adding your own personality to the classic color scheme. While our couple used white as their base color, black with hints of white and red would be equally as stunning. How you choose to style your color palette is up to you!

What season is best for a red and white wedding theme?

While there’s no strict set of rules for when and how you use a color scheme, red and white is an ideal palette for winter weddings especially if you’re planning a date around Christmas, New Year’s, or Valentine’s Day. Snowy white brings in the beauty of the chilly landscape, while red evokes warmth and passion — a color combo made for celebrating love.

Kaitlin and Cody took inspiration from the wintry vibe of a red and white theme, seamlessly integrating the color scheme into sophisticated decor and charming seasonal touches.

Setting the scene with elegant invites

Giving guests a first taste of their sophisticated wedding theme, Kaitlin and Cody’s invitations featured a wreath of elegant winter greenery and crisp white berries with golden accents – a motif that continues throughout the brisk early February wedding day.

A venue with historic charm

Choosing a wedding location that works with your wedding theme helps tie your decor choices together. For their nuptials, Kaitlin and Cody chose a historic manor house to frame the timeless beauty of their day. With aged stonework, manicured grounds, and vintage interior details, the locale perfectly tied in with the couple’s timeless wedding style.

Dressing in classic style

Kaitlin’s stunning trumpet gown was perfection for her wedding day, with elegant lace details and an off the shoulder neckline evoking vintage beauty and perfectly framing her flowing auburn hair. She tied her look together with a classic pearl necklace and delicate dangling earrings.

The bridesmaids took a cue from Kaitlin’s dress choice, donning emerald velvet bias cut gowns that looked like they stepped right off a 1940’s movie set. Cozy fur stoles kept the bride and her ladies warm outside and added to the glamorous vintage style.

The groom matched the mood with a dapper black suit with crisp white shirt. In lieu of flowers, the groom and groomsmen opted for stylish pocket squares in the same deep green velvet as the bridesmaids, with the groomsmen sporting matching velvet ties, as well.

Bridal flowers with a red and white wedding theme

When you’re working with a classic wedding theme like Kaitlin and Cody, flowers are the best way to add color accents. The rouge tones for their red and white wedding decor was focused mainly on the bridal and attendant flowers, giving them an extra special touch in a sea of winter whites.

Nothing says romance like a perfect red rose, and Kaitlin carried a beautiful free-form bridal bouquet filled with the classic rouge bloom. The rosy red was accented with additional flowers in white and burgundy, with evergreen branches, winter berries, and sparkling accents all tied together with a complimentary ribbon.

Coordinating red and white bridesmaid’s bouquets

To tie the bridal party look together, Kaitlin’s bridesmaids carried slightly smaller red and white bridesmaid bouquets that mirrored the beautiful ingredients of her bouquet. Held against their green dresses, the colors stood out and perfectly framed Kaitlin’s studding bridal look.

Lovely adornments for the flower girl

Floral accessories just for the flower girls make them feel extra special when they’re part of your big day. Kaitlin’s littlest attendant topped her sweet white dress with a coordinating red and white flower crown and carried a basket adorned with red, white, and evergreen accents.

A romantic red and white wedding ceremony

Kaitlin and Cody created an elegant, romantic ceremony space that tied in perfectly with the crisp, cool winter season. The room was encased in expertly draped white fabric with a gilded chandelier for added romance. Friends and family flanked the inviting wedding aisle to share in the celebration of their love.

Elegant white aisle decor

In keeping with the classic theme, sophisticated white floral centerpieces were displayed on tall white pillars with greenery draping down from the arrangements. The florals perfectly framed the aisle, creating a cohesive visual eyeline to the romantic wedding arbor.

Enchanting floral wedding arch

Kaitlin and Cody said “I do” under an elegant wedding arch decorated with a spray of white flowers. Evergreen accents help the flowers stand out and give a nod to the season. A wall of twinkling lights filtered through the white wall behind them like icicles glowing in the sunlight, creating a truly magical mood for celebrating love.

Crystal hoop centerpieces

In keeping with the sparkling frosty details throughout the wedding, Kaitlin and Cody chose sophisticated hoop centerpieces accented with dangling cut crystals. The wooden hoops were charmingly framed at the base with simple white roses, pinecones, and greenery.

Rose petals add a romantic touch

Delicately scattered around the sparkling centerpieces, red rose petals added a soft, romantic touch to the crystalline decor, tying the red and white wedding theme together at the dinner table for an evening of joyful celebration.
