What You Will Need to Make a DIY Dramatic Centerpiece:

To create your dramatic centerpiece, you’ll need:

  • 1 Floral foam block
  • Your creative spirit

Your wedding is the chance to showcase your unique style, taste and creativity. Rather than settling for generic wedding decor, the designer flower boxes from Ling’s Moment are the perfect starter kit to create your own custom floral design. In a variety of sizes, types and colors, there’s a box and color palette for any wedding vision. Once you complete these flower centerpieces for the dining room table, you will feel energized and inspired to create more of your own floral wedding decor.

To create this dramatic centerpiece we used two designer flower boxes in white & ivory, but you can use any of our 12+ color palettes to create your own! The height of the candlestick we used in the video is 20”, but you can choose a height that works for your table setting.

How to Make A Flower Centerpiece

Step 1: Position the wire

Take three floral wires and bend them into a U shape. Place them in the base of the candlestick (ends pointing up) to create a supportive frame. Secure them into place using the hot glue gun.

Step 2: Install the floral foam

Using the spikes created in the previous step, push the block of floral foam onto the base. Trim the edges to create a more rounded foam shape.

Step 3: Start shaping the flowers

To start creating your floral design, take 5 large flowers and use these as the framework for your stunning design. Based on these, keep adding flowers of various sizes, colors and types to create a cluster. Now is the time to embrace your creativity and instinct - this is your chance to create truly unique floral decor!

Step 4: Add the greenery

Fill in the gaps in your arrangement with the foliage and accessories of your choosing. These extra details will bring the whole arrangement together, and create an added layer of intrigue and texture to your tablescape.

All finished!

After any final adjustments, you’re done! The beauty of this DIY is that you can create a whole range of dramatic table centerpieces, none of them exactly alike. Try mixing different candlestick heights, floral combinations and tonal variations to create the wedding decor that feels right to you. These table centerpieces can be placed on guest tables, the bridal table, a drinks bar or welcome counter - basically, anywhere!
